The emperor is extremely angry! His master chef is dead. Since then, he has been searching for a worthy successor who is able to prepare his favourite dishes for him and serve them exactly as he was used to.

There have already been quite a number of applicants (whether voluntary or involuntary is a moot point) for the prestigious but also extremely dangerous position of Emperor’s Chef. However, so far all candidates have failed the entrance examination and were chased from the court (with their heads under their arms). Now it is our turn…

Mr. E has been in Athens since 2015. This provider became notorious for its survival horror games such as Amnesia and The Curse, which have since moved to Thessaloniki. In the Greek capital, a completely different approach is now being taken. The motto here is now “Back to the roots!

With “The Emperor’s Masterchef is Dead”, Mister E has deliberately taken a step back, and has developed a very innovative and original game concept, which focuses on fun and puzzles, without a lot of technical frills.

There are two options regarding the level of difficulty: “Chef” and “Master”. We competed in pairs and decided on the “Master” variant. It is not an easy mission, because the fastidious emperor can get quite stressed if his food is not served on time. And so we started sweating quite a few times.

In the end, we passed our master’s examination with flying colours (albeit at the last minute) and can now officially call ourselves The Emperor’s Master Chef.

An original story (something different for a change), a harmonious ambience, thematic puzzles, suitable background music (sometimes calming, sometimes hectic), and a very nice gamemaster who had everything under control. Game recommendation 2-4 persons.
