The Daltons Escape

This is a review of the Escape Room “The Daltons Escape” offered by Escape Prod in Bruxelles, Belgium.

The second game we played at Escape Prod in Brussels was also based on a well-known comic series. Who doesn’t know them, the Dalton crime gang from Lucky Luke, consisting of the four brothers Joe, William, Jack and Averell? In the Lucky Luke album Nepotism the comic Daltons are introduced as the cousins of the historical Daltons, Bob, Grat, Bill and Emmett, who lived 1861-1937.

We chose The Daltons Escape room, even though it is declared the easiest of the four missions in terms of difficulty, because we liked the topic best. We have played museum and space missions sufficiently, but we have not yet played a Daltons Escape Game. The Dalton’s Escape room exists twice, and is therefore also suitable for larger groups or as a versus game. The room is offered for 2-6 players, but I would not play it with more than 3-4 people per room.

Lucky Luke has caught you again and put you in prison. Of course you want to break out there, but not without retrieving the loot from the last robbery first. We were able to split up and work on different tasks at the same time. That is probably the reason for the relatively fast breakout time. We escaped in just 26 minutes, but we also improvised a little: probably not always following the intended path. Of course, the builder of the prison could not have known that Saskia descends from an eagle owl, thus having fourteen cervical vertebrae instead of the usual seven, and being able to turn her head 270°.

The game was fun, has some nice ideas, numerous references to the comics and can be recommend as family-friendly beginner’s room for a group size of 2-4 people from 8+ years.
