This is a review of the Escape Room “Slaughterhouse” offered by One Hour in Paris, France.

One Hour is one of the best known and most popular providers in Paris. At two different locations, Charonne and Voltaire, three scenarios are currently being offered.

In Charonne you can play Lost Asylum, a horror theme, and Very bad night, which deals with the blockbuster Hangover.

At the newer location, Voltaire, there is the slaughterhouse.

Immerse yourself in the horrifying world of the Voltaire slaughterhouse. Mounted on the background of slasher movie, this time One Hour changes the rules, you will not have to flee from a place but a person …

As we enter the building, we are warmly welcomed by our gamemaster in the beautifully decorated reception. He offered us drinks and explained us the situation.

Afterwards the briefing we enter the slaughterhouse of Voltaire. The place we are supposed to investigate because several police tracks have led there.

I do not want to reveal any more at this point to avoid spoiling.

The atmosphere is awesome. Light, sound, the attention to detail very impressive. So it’s not a surprise that the Slaughterhouse won the Escape Game Award 2019 for the room with the best scenery and the best immersion in Ile de France.

The gameplay is very well thought out and sophisticated down to the last detail. There are nice twists and turns during the game and we even came across a surprise guest who gave a little show for us.

It is also worth mentioning that there are several alternative finals, depending on how far the groups have progressed in their game.

After the game we had the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and some open questions were answered. For example, how our opponent managed to stress us so much during the game.

In summary, the Slaughterhouse was certainly the highlight of our Paris tour with a total of 19 Escape Games.
