La Cerveceria (The Brewery) is the name of the new Escape Game from Enigmik. It was created in close collaboration with the Estrella Brewery, whose Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Dam is just a block away.

Before the game starts, the GameMaster gives us a bracelet for identification as well as a pretty brewer’s apron with 1 or 2 banners that identify person-specific tasks. On the integrated tablet we are shown the time, but can also receive hints.

After that, the master of ceremonies Josep Damm, appears in life size – he reminds me a little of Pumuckl’s Master Eder – and explains us in a somewhat longer introductory video quite entertaining our mission. We have to reconstruct the recipe of the 5 point beer and then brew the legendary drink.

We have 80 minutes after the introduction.
The whole Escape Game is mainly about the special beer and its brewing process. The setting is very appealing and authentic so that we can actually feel like little master brewers.

In order to achieve the goal of the game, we have to face a multitude of different tasks together. Here the game designer was really very creative! Some tasks are collaborative, others can only be done by the designated person. All this conveys a feeling of teamwork and cohesion with a high fun factor. And if everything goes well, there is of course the obligatory reward in the end.

I’ve played several brewery games, but I liked La Cerveseria by far the best.
Four (the minimum number of players) or five brewers are a good team size for this game. Enigmik has also a second room called “The NW6 Bunker”. We haven’t played it.
