The haunted scene in Bulgaria is not (yet) very pronounced. Much to the chagrin of the operators, who look a little envious to Athens, where they love to go to play as passionate escapers, and of course they want such a market in Sofia. But the spark hasn’t really been transferred to the escapers in this country yet, the three operators of scary rooms that are currently available in Sofia told us. Many players in Bulgaria are still too scared. Maybe this is yet to come and there is simply no suitable room for beginners in this genre. Because all creepy escape rooms that we played in Sofia were above the scar level, which I would recommend to a beginner. In any case I found the rooms, if one carefully chooses the game mode that suits oneself, recommendable.

There are only 5 creepy rooms in Sofia, of which King’s Rooms IT is the longest at 105 minutes. Once there, we are greeted by a somewhat bizarre in-character gamemaster and instructed in the game. Then our adventure starts with a rather unusual task that requires a lot of teamwork. The game has a lot of puzzles for a creepy room and that’s why I think Ayah and Maxime, who are not so much into horror, liked it the best. The puzzles were of medium difficulty and are well integrated into the game. Also the setting matches the theme. Everything is homemade. The horror is well dosed and comes at the right times. There is a rising tension curve but also breaks in which we could puzzle undisturbed. IT is relatively spacious, can certainly be played with 4-5 people with fun and, an important point for me, there is no senseless darkness during the game or at least there are always enough light sources.

Very nice people who run their escape game with passion. GO F?R IT!
