(By Edaqa) I find myself in jail again. I should really pay attention to what I do, as I seem to end up here often. No matter, regardless the cause it behooves me to find a way out. It’s time to put my escape skills to good use and break out.

Thematically, “Gefängnis” felt somewhat like a local jail. Not a lot of space, and adjacent to an officers’ room. I’m not sure how to evaluate this theme, as it’s by nature rather minimal. It is well constructed, though it feels like something is missing.

Despite its plain decor, I enjoyed this game. The initial few puzzles connected well to the theme. Perhaps it’s the tribute to the name “Escape game”, but I’m excited at the feeling of escaping. Unfortunately, the latter puzzles were somewhat orthogonal to the theme, feeling more like a grab bag of games than a cohesive collection.

But while contrived, those puzzles were well placed within the room, and interesting to solve. There were definitely some novel ideas here, ones I’d not seen before. We didn’t get stuck on anything, and everything made sense.

This room doesn’t get any awards for originality, but it scores strongly for overall quality. Limited theme, but with solid play.
