This was our third visit to Dark School – THE top address for Resident Evil fans! Endless places to explore in Code Veronica which mean we got a good exercise workout too ??‍♂️??‍♀️?‍♂️! Fortunately, we had Susan, the daughter of the scientist Dr. McCormick, an experienced helper at our side. Together we try to prevent the highly contagious virus from spreading outside the facilities of Silk City. Susan seems to be the “key” to locate the hidden notes so that the Umbrella can finally seal the sector.

As with the two previous scenarios, Operation Silk City and Biohazard, Dark School has succeeded in creating a most realistic survival horror room on around 300 square meters, in which Code Veronica (4th part of Resident Evil Computer series) is set and includes huge high rooms spread over different floors. This makes it more challenging to keep track of things. The decoration is often simple, but appropriate and apparently also very robust, because it is sometimes subjected to some stress tests during the game.

I would describe the difficulty of the puzzles as moderate, with the most important thing is to keep a cool head and be able to think clearly given the circumstances. Some situations require courageous decisions, otherwise a talent for improvisation, as well as careful observation, and searching will help solve many tasks.

And what action! Its a nightmare that starts from the very beginning. Before we know it, we are in the middle of a struggle for survival. Acting is certainly one of Code Veronica’s strengths. This applies to both Susan, who has always remained in her role, who reacted very flexibly to the developments of the game, and who was a great help to us as the fourth team member, as well as to the zombies who gave us well-timed and sometimes surprising attacks and kept ourselves in suspense all the time. The noises and actions of the zombies seemed very real and, depending on the situation, caused us to run, hide or block access to a room. And if you think zombies are weak and slow, you are wrong!!

With our combined forces we finally succeeded in bringing the mission “Code Veronica” to a successful conclusion after 85 minutes without countable losses. A good team size is 3-4 people (not for reasons of space, but for group-dynamic/performance reasons).

We’re already looking forward to the fourth adventure in the Resident Evil series at Dark School – Patient Zero X.
